Major operation against online fraud in Tirana, call center bases targeted

New details have emerged from the operation carried out this evening in Tirana by the Directorate for the Investigation of Cyber Crime. According to the data, 9 security measures have been issued as part of the investigation. The operation is being led by Tirana prosecutor Rovena Bozo.

During the inspections, 3 call centers were verified, spread across 4 work premises, with around 300 workstations in total.

It is reported that approximately €1 million in cash has been seized, suspected to be proceeds from criminal activity.

Two of the inspected premises are located in the Millennium Business Center on Kavaja Street, while the other is near the Zoo area.

It is suspected that citizens from several countries, including Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, Canada, and the United States, were defrauded through various telephone schemes operated from these structures.

Investigations are ongoing to fully uncover the scheme and the role of each individual involved in this activity.
