A significant increase in traffic has been recorded at the Kapshtica Border Crossing, as many migrants are returning to Greece following the end of the holidays. According to official data, the Albanian side is operating with five exit counters, using maximum capacity, while the Greek side has put six entry lanes into operation.
The surge in traffic has mainly occurred in the last minutes, as earlier in the day the situation at this border point appeared calm, with no long queues reported.
Border authorities state that all necessary measures have been taken to handle the situation and avoid delays, aiming to facilitate the movement of citizens on both sides of the border.
