Country music legend David Allan Coe dies at 86

David Allan Coe, the outlaw country music legend and pioneer songwriter behind hits such as “You Never Even Called Me by My Name” and “Take This Job and Shove It,” has died. He was at 86. David died Wednesday in a hospital.

“David is a musical treasure,” the representative said. “Even in his years of declining health, David appreciated all of the fans.”

A cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

One of the best singers, songwriters, and performers of our time [and] never to be forgotten,” his wife, Kimberly Hastings Coe, told Rolling Stone. “My husband, my friend, my confidant and my life for many years. I’ll never forget him and I don’t want anyone else to ever forget him either.”

The “Longhaired Redneck” singer’s health had been declining over the last decade.

In 2013, at 73, David survived a harrowing crash when a semi-truck broadsided his Suburban at a Florida intersection after he ran a red light at 1:30 a.m., according to the Ocala Star Banner.

Rescuers spent two hours cutting him out of the wreckage. He walked away with broken ribs, bruised kidneys and 48 stitches in his head.

In 2021, David, then 81, was hospitalized for a month after he tested positive for COVID.

David is remembered as one of the pillars of the outlaw country movement and helped propel the genre into the fringes of the mainstream country music industry with his songwriting and lifestyle.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on Sept. 6, 1939, David spent his younger years serving stints in reformatories and prisons, including the Ohio State Penitentiary, serving time for a range of charges, including grand theft auto and possession of burglary tools.

He long insisted he killed a man in prison in 1963, beating him with a mop bucket after a shower confrontation, but later research suggested the tale was more legend than fact, despite his well-documented criminal record.

Fresh out of prison in 1967, David made his way to Nashville in a hearse, parking outside the Ryman Auditorium and performing on the street before Grand Ole Opry shows wearing a mask and a rhinestone suit as he chased his musical ambitions, his son, Tyler Mahan Coe, told GQ in 2021.

His street-corner hustle eventually landed him a record deal with Plantation Records, releasing his blues-rooted debut album, “Penitentiary Blues,” in 1970 and “Requiem for a Harlequin” in 1973, but his career began to skyrocket after writing Tanya Tucker’s 1973 country chart hit “Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone).”

David then signed with Columbia Records, releasing his first true country album, “The Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy,” in 1974, then broke through the following year with “Once Upon a Rhyme” and his first country Top 10 single, “You Never Even Called Me by My Name.”

In 1976, David released “Longhaired Redneck,” with the album’s title track serving as a pointed nod to the outlaw country genre, and his 1977 No. 1 hit song “Take This Job and Shove It,” recorded by fellow outlaw Johnny Paycheck, became one of working-class America’s most beloved anthems.

His run continued well into the next decade, with 1983’s “The Ride” giving way to his highest-charting single, “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile,” which peaked at No. 2 in 1984.

The country music icon released 42 studio albums over a career spanning nearly six decades.

Barry Keoghan Finally Speaks Out on Sabrina Carpenter Cheating rumors

Barry Keoghan has finally broken his silence on rumors that he cheated on Sabrina Carpenter. “I feel in a safe space to say this … but I have been avoiding stuff,” the Irish actor admitted during Tuesday’s “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco while talking about his split from the pop star.

“I have been like, you know, I came off Instagram … and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve stopped, you know, just socializing.”

Keoghan said his absence was prompted by a “not true” narrative that was out there, which he had “never really even spoken on” until now.

I never confirmed or said anything about it … I just disappeared,” the “Saltburn” star explained.

When Dicky (born David Burd) asked if infidelity was the “narrative” the actor was speaking about, he confirmed that those were indeed the rumors he was referencing.

“I don’t want to ever bring anyone else into it, but like, you know, unfortunately, having a relationship in the public eye, it’s — we all know this — you know, from our own stories,” Keoghan said.

“It gets put out there and it’s like … it’s amplified.”

“It’s a hard one because I never want to speak on behalf of other people and also never want to mention other people or involve them.”

The “Batman” actor said it’s not his place or his ex’s “to come forward and speak” on his behalf because he feels like it’s “unfair to them.”

“They’re also in a relationship. It’s also both of us being out there for like … I’m very aware of that,” he said.

Carpenter, 26, and Keoghan, 33, were romantically linked in December 2023 after they were spotted on a dinner date in Los Angeles.

The pair seemingly confirmed their romance one month later when they shared a “little kiss” while visiting an interactive museum in LA.

In December 2024, Page Six confirmed that the “Please Please Please” singer and the “Banshees of Inisherin” actor called it quits.

Rumors then surfaced that Keoghan cheated on Carpenter with an influencer named Breckie Hill, which prompted the Oscar nominee to deactivate his Instagram account due to all the backlash.

Hill shot down allegations that she ever hooked up with the “Crime 101” actor, claiming they had never even met in real life and she had only just seen him on TV.

Experts Reveal the Right Way to Shower — Most People Get It Wrong

What direction do you face when you shower? It’s likely not a question that you’ve spent much time pondering. But it turns out the way you answer says a lot about you. The internet seems to be struggling to agree on whether we should be facing the spray of the water or facing our backs towards it.

In a recent TikTok, a Canadian creator went viral for responding to a claim that neurodivergent people apparently shower backwards.

User Canadian Ginger argues that it’s actually individuals with neurodivergence who are “showering the right way.”

Her comment section revealed there’s confusion on what we’re meant to be doing.

Wait, what? Everyone showers with the water facing your back… right? Right?” one user questioned.

Another shared: “I asked my husband, and he said he showers sideways, facing the shower curtain, and I don’t know what to do with this information.”

“I always thought that facing the shower head was a fake movie thing,” a third pondered.

However, a middle ground was able to be found.

Are we not rotating? Tell me we’re rotating,” a comment said.

“I just be in there rotating like a rotisserie chicken,” another admitted.

According to Doctor Vincent, founder of Renovatio, the decision is generally influenced by sensation and how well we can cope with it.

A lot of it comes down to sensory preference and nervous system regulation. The face is one of the most sensitive parts of the body, packed with nerve endings. Direct water hitting your face can feel overstimulating, especially if the pressure is high, the temperature is hot and you’re already stressed or fatigued,” Vincent told news.com.au.

Facing away can feel more calming and controlled. It reduces sensory input and gives a sense of relaxation, which is why many people instinctively turn their back when they want to unwind.”

As for the direction that is “correct” — well, he says there isn’t one.

“Your body doesn’t biologically require you to face one way or the other. What matters more is how you shower: water temperature, duration and how your skin responds,” he said.

However, he warns there could be a mistake in favoring one side too much.

“Facing directly into hot water for prolonged periods can dry out your skin (especially your face), worsen conditions like eczema, rosacea or sensitivity, and irritate your eyes.

“On the flip side, always facing away might mean you’re not properly rinsing shampoo or cleanser from your face or chest, which can lead to irritation or breakouts. So it’s less about wrong and more about balance,” he explained

It’s a conclusion he shares with dermal therapist, Isabella Loneragan, who believes facing away from the shower serves as a “practical skincare habit” a lot of people don’t realize they’re doing.

“Avoiding constant water contact helps preserve natural oils, particularly for those with sensitive, dry or reactive skin,” Loneragan told news.com.au.

She also advises that we should shower “alternating your position throughout your routine.”

Face the water when you’re actively cleansing the face or rinsing product thoroughly from the front of the body. This helps remove residue more effectively and prevents build-up that can lead to irritation or congestion,” she said.

“Once you’ve finished cleansing, turn away from the stream to limit prolonged exposure on more delicate areas like the face and chest, which are often the first to show signs of dryness and sensitivity.”

She also recommends keeping the water warm, as opposed to scalding hot, even though the steaming temperature often feels like heaven.

“The skin on the face and décolletage is more delicate, so that prolonged exposure can compromise the barrier,” she explained.

Megan Thee Stallion set to leave Moulin Rouge! The Musical early after record-breaking run

Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed she will depart Moulin Rouge! The Musical earlier than originally planned, sharing the news directly with fans. “Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1 ❤️‍🩹,” she wrote in an Instagram post on April 27. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!

Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work!”

“I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful,” she continued. “And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL🥹 See you soon 💙.”

The three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper and actress made her Broadway debut as Harold Zidler, the impresario of the famed Parisian nightclub, beginning March 24. Her run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City had initially been scheduled through May 17.

Her casting marked a milestone for the production, as she became the first female-identifying performer to take on the role of Zidler in any production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical worldwide.

The role was originated on Broadway in 2019 by Danny Burstein, who previously spoke to PEOPLE exclusively about Megan’s reception among the cast and audiences.

“All my friends who are still in the show, the people backstage, they all are crazy about her. They all love her so much,” Burstein said. “And the producers are telling me that the audiences are going nuts. I’m so, so incredibly happy for her. I just want her to succeed and shine. And I want the show to succeed and shine.”

Megan’s Broadway run has included both high points and challenges. After missing two performances due to a hospitalization on March 31, she returned to the stage on April 2, later describing the experience as “a real wake-up call.”

“I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough,” she wrote in an April 1 Instagram post. “It honestly scared me.”

“I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have,” she added. “I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.”

She also made headlines in recent days after confirming her breakup from Dallas Mavericks player Klay Thompson, saying in a statement to PEOPLE that “trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable” and that she is choosing to “prioritize” herself moving forward.

Despite the early departure, Megan previously spoke about her excitement in taking on the role and exploring a new creative space.

“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” she said in a statement when her run was announced. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace.”

Taylor Swift reveals how a car ride with fiancé Travis Kelce inspired her song “Elizabeth Taylor”

Inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places for Taylor Swift. The 36-year-old singer-songwriter is detailing the stories and process behind some of her biggest hits in a new profile for The New York Times Magazine

From hits like “Love Story” to “Clara Bow,” the Grammy winner and chart-topper gets candid about the moments that led to the tracks and the meaning behind some of her best lyrics.

There are so many different ways that a song begins in my world,” Swift says in the profile.

She then gives an insight into the song “Elizabeth Taylor” off her most recent studio album,The Life of a Showgirl.

I’m riding in the car with Travis,” she began, referencing her fiancé, Travis Kelce. “I go on and on in explaining to Travis, like, why I love Elizabeth Taylor so much. She fought for artists’ rights. She was exploited in so many ways, and yet she kept her humanity. She kept her humor. She kept her passion for life.’ I was just going on and on.”

The impassioned rant continued, and Swift recalled, “I was like, ‘Her eyes were violet. Some people said they were blue. Some people said they were violet. I think they were violet.’ We get home. He gets out of the car and I’m just in my head just this intrusive melody…. And I’m just scrambling to open my record app on my phone.”

The song, which features the lyrics, “I cried my eyes violet, Elizabeth Taylor,” is the second track on the pop star’s 12th studio album, which was released in October.

During her album promotion, Swift shared that she’d reached out to Taylor’s estate to get permission to release the song, which features multiple lyrical references to the actress. Swift called the estate “lovely” during an interview on the Scott Mills on Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Taylor’s son Christopher Wilding praised the song, saying he listened to it “the day it became available.”

She and my mom do seem like kindred spirits. They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment,” he shared. “The way [Swift] has deftly captured the similarities and parallel tracks in their careers and personal lives is delightful.”

Much of Swift’s latest album is believed to be about her romance with Kelce, whom she started dating in 2023. The couple announced their engagement last August.

Victoria Beckham reveals the outfit daughter Harper, 14, is not allowed to wear

Victoria Beckham has revealed the one outfit from her impressive wardrobe that daughter Harper is banned from wearing.  The Spice Girls singer-turned-fashion designer, 52, has shared that Harper, 14, is desperate to ‘get her hands on’ the iconic costumes from her mother’s pop heyday.

However, Victoria is adamant that her teenaged daughter will not be wearing her black PVC catsuit from the band’s Say You’ll Be There video.

Speaking at the Time100 Summit in New York City last week, Victoria was asked if Harper will be inheriting any Spice Girls costumes.

She replied: ‘She loves fashion, she loves beauty, and I’m pretty sure she would love to get her hands on those Spice Girls costumes …

‘Well not the PVC catsuit just yet. She’s 14, ok, So we’re going to wait for that.’

Victoria added of Harper: ‘She’s been sitting on my lap through product development meetings since she was a baby. I mean, she is as obsessed with product as I am.’

Elsewhere during the talk, Victoria explained she refuses to ‘pay attention’ to negative stories about her family.

The Beckhams were caught in a major storm when her and husband David’s eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 27, shared a blistering Instagram statement earlier this year – accusing them of ruining his wedding to wife Peltz Beckham, 31, controlling him and being obsessed with image and social media.

When asked how she copes ‘when private matters become international news’, Victoria replied: ‘This has been happening since I was 20 so it’s been going on a long time.

‘And I have an incredible husband who supports me enormously we’re always there for each other and I learned a long time ago not to listen to the noise.

Not focus on the noise. Someone’s always going to have something to say. I focus and I don’t pay attention to it if that makes any sense.

‘Someone else will deal with it. I don’t want to know. That’s how I handle it I suppose.’

Victoria and her husband David, 50, have been in New York recently and last week they attended the TIME100 Gala.

Victoria made Time’s Most Influential People of 2026 list this year.

When asked on the Today show by hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones about the tumultuous recent time for the family Victoria didn’t specifically reference her son, 27, but said she will ‘always protect’ her kids.

Jenna directly asked her in the interview: ‘You have had a pretty public challenging year – we have talked about it on this show. How do you get through the tough times?’

She replied: ‘You know, myself and David, we’re so close and we have incredible people around us.

‘We’re close to my parents and David’s parents. We support each other through everything that we do.

‘We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children. But we laugh a lot. David Beckham is really, super funny.’

Brooklyn cut ties with his family in a scathing social media statement in January, declaring he has no plans to reconcile with his famous parents and accusing them of ‘controlling him for most of his life’.

David and Victoria have not been seen with their son since.

Ed Sheeran shocks fans with bold buzz cut transformation

We’re in love with the shape of… Ed Sheeran’s new hairline? The “Shivers” singer debuted a shocking shaved-head look via Instagram on Tuesday in a “Life Update Dumpington” post. “Yes I’ve shaved my hair. I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start,” Sheeran, 35, explained in the caption. “A lot of new beginnings in my life [at the moment].”

He added that he personally “love[s]” the ‘do and is “thinking of keeping it this way.”

Elsewhere in the post, Sheeran — who is best known for his messy ginger locks, often kept cut to a medium-length style — revealed that he’s had a case of the shingles “for the last month.”

“Wouldn’t recommend it, but on the mend now,” he reassured his followers, many whom praised him for the buzzcut in the comments section.

The four-time Grammy winner has been on hiatus during his ongoing Loop Tour, which kicked off in January and runs through December with dates around the globe.

“Can’t wait to get back cracking on that,” he said of returning to the stage. “See you lovely people there.”

This certainly isn’t the first time Sheeran has surprised fans with a new look, however.

Back in December, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer showed off an impressive 30-pound weight loss transformation on the cover of Men’s Health UK.

Sheeran posed shirtless and showed off his ripped abs for the publication, sharing that he embarked on the fitness journey for his family.

The musician — who shares daughters Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3, with wife Cherry Seaborn — credited a “consistent” workout routine and cutting back on alcohol for his fitness glow up.

It all came in at the same time of wanting to be a responsible dad, wanting to feel and look good,” he explained.

At the time, Sheeran admitted he was “worried” about how his fans would react to his magazine cover.

“I’m the guy people relate to and I did think, ‘F–k, is it weird me being super in shape on a Men’s Health cover?’” he shared, adding that he decided to do it in the hopes of inspiring others to achieve their goals. Sheeran previously revealed that he lost 50 pounds and quit smoking in 2019.

Jennifer Lopez, 56, flaunts toned abs during intense gym session: “Rise and grind!”

Jennifer Lopez was up early on Sunday working out in the gym, and she shared a slideshow of snaps of her impressively sculpted abs as proof. The 56-year-old Bronx-born pop diva flexed her etched six-pack while clad in a plunging white-ribbed cropped sweater over a black sports bra, matching low-rise leggings and white sneakers.

Lopez – who boasts 392.6 million social media followers – captioned her Instagram posts with a bicep emoji and wrote: ‘Rise and grind!’

The four-time divorced mother-of-two’s longtime trainer Tracy Anderson commented: ‘Those abs!!!’

In 2023, Lopez presented the outstanding achievement in fitness trophy to the 51-year-old fitness guru at the 5th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles, California.

‘Tracy Anderson stands out as the original creator whose methods and dedication to her craft keep her at the top of her game,’ the Save Me Tonight singer said in her speech.

‘There is no madness to the method – just 25 years of pure dedication to her clients and health.’

According to Town & Country – Anderson charges a $1,500 initiation fee plus annual dues for VIP access to her gyms where celebrity clientele includes Olivia Wilde, Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham.

Lopez – who’s also trained with Dodd Romero and David Kirsch – shared her fitness philosophy in a prior gym slideshow from February 10: ‘The goal is simple. Better than yesterday. Every. Single. Day.’

The two-time Grammy nominee executive produced and starred as Air Cruz CEO Jackie Cruz opposite her ‘best onscreen kisser’ Brett Goldstein in Ol Parker’s rom-com Office Romance, which premieres June 5 on Netflix.

The 45-year-old Englishman co-wrote the script with Ted Lasso co-creator Joe Kelly, and he portrays the sexy lawyer Daniel Blanchflower, who falls for Cruz despite her rigid anti-fraternization policy.

And if the characters wind up wedding, it will mark Lopez’s 10th time playing a bride in a movie.

Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Bradley Whitford, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale and Jackie Sandler will also be featured in Office Romance.

The Nuyorican co-founder needs a hit after the box office failures of Unstoppable only earning $3,966 in 2024 before streaming on Prime Video, and The Kiss of the Spider Woman only earning $2 million last year after a $30 million budget.

Lopez will also star in Robert Zemeckis’ thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish for Netflix and she’ll produce Bob the Builder for Amazon MGM Studios.

Lopez – who boasts 392.6 million social media followers – captioned her Instagram posts with a bicep emoji and wrote: ‘Rise and grind!’

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith spark reunion buzz as they step out arm-in-arm years after split

Antonio Banderas and ex-wife Melanie Griffithcozied up to each other after enjoying dinner in Los Angeles over the weekend. The 65-year-old actor and 68-year-old actress proved they continue to be on friendly terms as they walked arm-in-arm 12 years after announcing their split.

The ex-couple was joined by their 29-year-olddaughter Stella Banderas, who was spotted walking closely behind them.

Banderas wore black trousers, a silver bomber jacket, and black clogs while holding a baseball cap in his hand.

Griffith was stylish in a pair of straight-leg blue jeans and a black moto jacket, along with lacy black fingerless gloves.

Stella, their only child together, was effortlessly fashionable in wide-leg white pants and a coordinating ivory coat.

The 65-year-old actor and 68-year-old actress proved they continue to be on friendly terms as they walked arm-in-arm 12 years after announcing their split. They were joined by their 29-year-old daughter Stella Banderas

The former lovebirds tied the knot in May 1996.

The blonde beauty tattooed her husband’s name inside a heart on her arm during their 18-year marriage.

Days after the announcement, she covered her estranged spouse’s name with makeup while attending a film festival awards ceremony in Italy.

She would eventually go on to replace the ink with the names of her four children.

Griffith was previously married to Don Johnson, with whom she shares daughter Dakota Johnson, 36.

The marriage also made her a stepmother to Johnson’s son Jesse Johnson, 43.

And she shares son Alexander Griffith Bauer, 40, with her second husband, Steven Bauer.

Banderas and Griffith’s divorce was finalized in December 2015.

The exes fell in love while shooting the 1995 romantic comedy Two Much, married in May 1996, and welcomed Stella that September.

In a statement announcing their split, they said, ‘We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together – Melanie & Antonio.’

Banderas referred to his ex-wife as ‘family’ and ‘one of my best friends’ in a 2019 interview with Vulture.

‘I am not married with Melanie anymore, but she is my family,’ he declared. ‘She is probably one of my best friends, if not the best friend that I have. My family is there, Dakota, Little Estella and Alexander.’

The Zorro star admitted he was smitten by the Hollywood vet the first time he saw her, at the 1989 Oscars.

He recalled: ‘The first time I went to the Academy Awards after we got a nomination for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, we got on the red carpet and I saw this blonde woman and I knew her because I saw movies of her, but I didn’t remember [her name] at the time.

‘So, I said to Pedro Almodóvar, “Who is she? Who is she? What is her name?” Pedro said, “That’s Melanie Griffith!” I said, “That’s it. Oh my God.” Six years later, I was married to her.’

Cameron Diaz embraces natural aging — but let’s be honest about Hollywood standards

Former fashion model-turned-noughties rom-com queen Cameron Diaz is back. And if we’re being honest, looking a little more bushed than her bombshell best. Papped last week in New York on the set of Stephen Merchant’s new film, The Sham, the 53-year-old mother-of-two doesn’t look a day over 55 – as the crinkles and crow’s feet attest.

After a decade-long Hollywood hiatus, this return is welcome. Yet while Diaz, a well-known diet and exercise fanatic, has a figure that could put women half her age to shame, her visage is in dire need of a refresh.

Perhaps, a shot of neurotoxin to smooth out that furrowed brow?

Oh no! Cameron Diaz wouldn’t think of it. Not anymore, at least.

‘I’ve tried [Botox] before, where it was like a little tiny touch of something,’ the Something About Mary star told Entertainment Tonight back in 2014.

It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, “No, I don’t want to be like that.” I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.’

Easy for you to say, sweetie. Let’s not forget, Diaz, who made her debut alongside Jim Carrey in The Mask almost 30 years ago, won the genetic lottery and remains striking even with a little wear and tear.

As only the third-ever female actor to hit the $20 million movie salary mark – for Gangs of New York and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003) – Diaz is still an A-list power player able to make a successful comeback in her sixth decade and on her own terms.

The laughter lines aren’t so bad when you have been laughing your way to the bank for decades.

Diaz, however, doesn’t half rub every average gal’s scrunchy mug in it.

‘I literally do nothing. I like never wash my face,’ Diaz said of her beauty regime in 2022. ‘Twice a month, if I’m lucky, I’ll be like, “Oh, I better put this on. One time works, right?”‘

She doesn’t do Botox and she’s dirty? That’s just not fair. But where Diaz goes too far is her reported judgment of those who have met the forces of gravity face-first and fought back.

‘[Diaz] feels quite sorry for some of those peers that she’s still in touch with when she meets them for lunch and sees their faces contorted, full of fillers and looking puffy and weird,’ a source told OK Magazine in 2024.

There’s bare-faced bore Pamela Anderson, another poster girl blessed with a pretty privilege and full of worthier pretensions. She ‘bravely’ started stepping out free of warpaint in 2019, following the death of her longtime makeup artist, Alexis Vogel.

‘I really didn’t know anyone would notice it,’ she told People in 2023 somewhat implausibly. ‘But I’m glad it became a positive message.’ Cue much gushing from the fashion press and an overenthusiastic Drew Barrymore, who interviewed the star on her chat show in 2024.

‘You really own this space, you’re a real pioneer,’ she drawled to Anderson, who on this occasion had waivered slightly by sporting pale brown eyeshadow.

Ditching the lippie has given Anderson her long-awaited credibility and a new lease of life, not to mention saved her a fortune in cleanser, but in truth, the fangirling adulation around the 58-year-old’s pared-back look has become as tired as her mascara-free eyes.

Barrymore, then in raptures over how Anderson told her she had started ‘a movement,’ but I don’t see too many others following suit. And there’s a good reason for that.

Most of us know we’d look anemic or shattered attempting to compete with the glam squad in front of the flash bulbs with little more than a slick of Vaseline.

Let’s not kid ourselves that any of this represents some wider revolution in how women are represented in Hollywood or treated by society.

For now, at least, self-acceptance and authenticity are for a select few with the right bone structure, and even that isn’t enough to stop father time.

Hold off with the smug sanctimony for a second, Cam. Yes, we all know the over-filtered fright shows, like Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen, who give tweakments a bad name. But there are others, whether they admit it or not, who have plumped artfully and can still be identified in a line-up.

Of course, for women, especially those in Hollywood, when it comes to cosmetic surgery, you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Recent weeks have reminded us of the frozen-faced time warps that trap many established stars.

Former Practical Magic co-stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have never admitted to cosmetic surgery and they may be telling the truth. They may also be sorceresses. On the promotion trail for Practical Magic 2, the sequel to the 1998 hit, it seems the greatest trick is looking smoother than their 30-something selves in the original flick.

And where to even start with the wrinkle-free 50th anniversary reunion of the original Charlie’s Angels stars earlier this month. Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Cheryl Ladd, with a combined 231 years, were seemingly not so much touting the wind-tunnel effect face lifts as a force ten gale…

But there is certainly an achievable middle ground. And those women, dare we say, they look a whole lot fresher than you, Cameron.

Diaz’s au naturel stance can be seen as a refreshing antidote to Hollywood’s often skewed beauty standards. But perhaps, in common with some other second-act A-listers, she’s riding the self-acceptance bandwagon a little too hard.

Eminem, 53, marks 18 years sober, shares NA chip after surviving 2007 overdose

The rapper, 53, shared an Instagram photo of himself holding a sobriety chip from Alcoholics Anonymous with the caption ‘XVIII’. The Detroit native, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, received a wave of love from his fanbase, including a heartfelt comment from his younger half-brother Nathan Mathers, who wrote, ‘proud of you big bro.’

Fans flooded the comments section, with users writing: ‘Inspiring… Congratulations on this milestone… So happy for you and the man you are’.

In 2008, Eminem – whose adopted daughter recently welcomed her first child – sought help for his addiction to substances such as Vicodin, Ambien and Valium.

In an interview with Vibe in May 2009, the Grammy-winning rapper detailed his addiction, estimating he consumed ‘anywhere between 10 to 20’ Vicodin daily in addition to massive doses of Valium, Ambien and other substances.

The numbers got so high,’ he said, ‘I don’t even know what I was taking.’

Regarding the overdose incident, he revealed that an ‘acquaintance’ provided him with medication, which he later discovered was methadone, a substance commonly used to help heroin addicts withdraw from the drug.

He confessed that his doctor informed him that the quantity of methadone he ingested was equivalent to injecting four bags of heroin.

‘Had I known it was methadone, I probably wouldn’t have taken it,’ he told the magazine. ‘But as bad as I was back then, I can’t even say 100 percent for sure… even when they told me I almost died, it didn’t click.’

In 2010, he dropped the album Recovery, which clinched the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album the subsequent year.

He spoke in more detail about his substance abuse disorder in 2015.

‘I was close to 230 pounds. I’m not sure how I got so big, but I have ideas.

‘The coating on the Vicodin and the Valium I’d been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach, so to avoid a stomachache, I was constantly eating — and eating badly.’

‘When I got out of rehab, I needed to lose weight, but I also needed to figure out a way to function sober,’ he added.

‘Unless I was blitzed out of my mind, I had trouble sleeping. So I started running. It gave me a natural endorphin high, but it also helped me sleep, so it was perfect.

‘It’s easy to understand how people replace addiction with exercise. One addiction for another but one that’s good for them.’

Eminem’s latest milestone came days after his adopted daughter Alaina Scott officially became a mother, welcoming her first child on Tuesday with husband Matt Moeller.

The 32-year-old new mom took to Instagram to share the first glimpses of her daughter, dressed in a custom-knit onesie that proudly displayed her unique name.

‘My heart outside my body. she’s everything and more. Scottie Marie Moeller born 4/14/26. Welcome to the world my sweet darling,’ Scott wrote in the emotional caption.

‘Scottie, in honor of my ‘scott sisters.’ The women who have given the name and my life so much meaning,” she continued, giving a heartfelt explanation for the name choice.

She added, ‘May she now give it a meaning of her own and always know how loved she is, by mom + dad, and her aunties.’

Awkward moment Victoria Beckham is told to “smile more” as David Beckham reacts…

Victoria Beckham was somewhat less than in fits of hilarity when she became the butt of a joke at the star-studded Time100 Gala in New York. She and her husband Sir David Beckham were jointly featured on this year’s list and oozed high-octane glamour during its celebratory event at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

But when comedian Nikki Glaser took the stage, she skewered Victoria’s well-known penchant for posing with a severe look on her face.

‘One of the most impressive people on the list is Victoria Beckham, of course. She was a global pop star, now a serious fashion designer,’ Glaser began.

‘She’s married to David Beckham. She’s rich, successful, stunning – what’s it gonna take to get you to smile? I mean, really, please, smile! You’re one of the only British people who should,’ said Glaser, in footage obtained by the Hollywood Reporter.

Victoria, 52, on the other hand, wore a pinched, forced-looking half-smile while David, 50, sat beside her, grinning and chuckling nervously.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for the Beckhams for comment.

Victoria cut an ethereal figure at the event, draped in a off-white silk gown that highlighted the lithe figure she achieved with a diet David described as consisting almost entirely of ‘grilled fish’ and ‘steamed vegetables.’

Meanwhile David, who was knighted by King Charles only this past November, glowed as he posed proudly beside his wife in a classic suit and tie.

It comes after Victoria addressed her ‘challenging’ past year amid her feud with son Brooklyn in a rare TV interview on Tuesday.

We’re close to my parents and David’s parents. We support each other through everything that we do.

We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children.

Victoria also said in the new interview that her and her husband rely on each other to navigate tough times.

She said: ‘We support each other through everything that we do. We’ve grown together. And that’s where I feel so blessed.

‘We really have grown together. We support each other. We’ve both got big dreams. We’re both very, very ambitious and we support each other. I want him to be the best version of himself and that’s what he wants for me.’

After the TV appearance Victoria shared snaps with the presenters and a glimpse of herself getting ready backstage.

As the interview dropped Brooklyn posted a snap on Instagram with his dogs as he continued to ignore the drama.

Just last week Victoria said it’s important that her children behave ‘appropriately’ amid the family’s ongoing feud with eldest son Brooklyn.

The Spice Girl was asked about her son before talk turned to her youngest child Harper.

Describing her 14-year-old daughter, Victoria said: ‘She’s very sweet, she’s very kind, she works hard, and she’s also very appropriate, which I think is really important as well.’

Her remarks followed Brooklyn’s explosive statement about their estrangement, in which he claimed that Victoria had danced ‘inappropriately’ with him at his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz.

She also addressed the feud directly, saying: ‘I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.

‘And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it’.

Victoria was also asked about whether she feels ‘remorse’ about bringing her family, including her four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, as well as her parents, into the public spotlight.

She told The Wall Street Journal: ‘I wouldn’t say it comes with guilt, I’d say that there was a lot of adjusting from my mum and dad, when all of a sudden there were paparazzi outside their house,’ she replied. ‘We’ve really taken our families on this ride with us’.

David and Victoria haven’t spoken to Brooklyn since last May, when he and his wife Nicola Peltz snubbed the former footballer’s 50th birthday celebrations.

Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers wrote to the Beckhams’ legal team demanding that they only converse through them.

Shortly before Christmas, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, and in January, he posted a brutal, bombshell six-page letter on the social media platform.

He claimed David and Victoria controlled him for most of his life, tried to split him and Nicola up and left him embarrassed when his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with him during his first dance at his wedding.

Speaking about all four of her children earlier in the interview, Victoria added that ‘being a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it’s very different from having little children’.

‘I think that we’re trying to do the best we can,’ adding that the negative press in the past three months has not affected her fashion and beauty business.

‘I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me,’ she said.

Love Knows No Age: Anthony Kiedis’ Girlfriend Opens Up About 33-Year Gap

Anthony Kiedis’s girlfriend Eileen Kelly addressed their 33-year age gap romance. The 30-year-old writer dished about her relationship with her much-older, rock star boyfriend, who she noted is ‘more than twice [her] age’ in an essay.

Though she did not specifically name Kiedis, 63, in the essay, she has been spotted with the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman on multiple occasions recently, including at Charli XCX’s post-Grammys party in February.

She penned a piece for Vogue titled ‘My Boyfriend Is Double My Age,’ which was published on Tuesday.

She revealed that her romance with Kieidis is her ‘first time dating someone significantly older’ and jokingly added that she has been ‘missing out my whole life.’

In her essay, she also opened up about receiving ‘unsolicited commentary in public’ including people mistaking him for her dad, which she noted is ‘incredibly awkward every time.’

In her essay, she revealed that they met at a mutual friend’s birthday party and bonded over their shared love of Hawaii, where he owns a house.

She noted that others may perceive their age difference as ‘either alarming or impressive, depending on who you ask.’

‘There is something to be said for a man who’s simply had more time to get his s*** together, and my much older boyfriend seems genuinely excited to be with me,’ she wrote.

She said that their relationship is ‘not like he’s biding his time before he can swipe for someone better.’

‘He is fully aware that he’s one lucky bastard,’ she added.

She also said that there is no power imbalance in their relationship.

‘I have my own money, my own career, and I have my own home,’ she wrote. ‘I love my boyfriend, but I’m not at risk of losing everything if we break up.’

She continued: ‘It’s hard not to see that distance between needing and wanting as part of the balance that makes the relationship possible. If I were 18, or even 21, the scales would be weighted far differently.’

Influencer, 32, dies after being hit by car outside Soho nightclub

A social media influencer has died after allegedly being run over by a former X Factorfinalist outside a nightclub in Soho.  Klaudia Zakrzewska, 32, from Essex, was struck by the car near the Inca venue on Argyll Street in central London in the early hours of Sunday, April 19.

She was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead on Saturday.

Gabrielle Precious Carrington, 29, was charged with attempting to murder the Tiktok and Instagram personality, who was known online as Klaudiaglam.

The Metropolitan Police said on Saturday that charge had now been amended to murder following Ms Zakrzewska’s death.

As a teenager, Carrington, also known as RIELLEUK, made it through to the live finals of The X Factor in 2013.

She was part of girl group Miss Dynamix after impressing Gary Barlow and the other judges.

More recently, she has become an influencer, with some 362,000 followers on Instagram

Det Chief Insp Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said today: ‘We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Klaudia’s family and friends in light of this tragic update. Our thoughts are also with everyone impacted by this incident.

‘We recognise that this case has generated significant interest and discussion on social media; however, we would urge the public to refrain from further speculation.

‘We also ask that people do not share graphic footage out of respect for Klaudia’s loved ones and for those who have been injured.

‘The circulation of such material could also undermine our ongoing criminal investigation and potentially prejudice future court proceedings.’

Police were called to the scene in the heart of the capital at 4.30am on Sunday following reports the black Mercedes car had crashed into pedestrians.

A 58-year-old man also sustained life-changing injuries in the same crash and was taken to hospital. A third woman, aged in her 30s, was treated for minor injuries.

The Metropolitan Police has previously said the incident is not being treated as terror-related.

Carrington, of Broadfield Road, Manchester, is also accused of dangerous driving, being nearly twice the drink-drive limit and causing injuries to two other people.

Gabrielle Carrington, 29, known as RIELLEUK, has been charged with attempted murder

She appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday and was remanded into custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on May 19.

Polish-born model Ms Zakrzewska, 30, who has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram, had posted videos from the nightclub on Sunday.

When Ms Zakrzewska still remained alive in a critical condition last week, her mother posted on a GoFundMe page set up to help cover legal fees and medical costs.

She wrote: ‘My daughter is currently in a coma and desperately fighting for her life. This is the most devastating time our family has ever faced.

‘Anyone who knew my gorgeous daughter knows how truly wonderful she is.

‘She has touched so many people with her pure heart and kindness.’

Her mother added: ‘If at any time things take a turn for the worst, additional funds will go towards funeral costs and continuous support for the family.’

The fundraiser has now seen nearly £18,000 donated to support Ms Z Ms Zakrzewska’s grieving family.

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner plan lavish Palermo wedding with A-list guests

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are reportedly set to wed in Palermo. The songstress, 30, who confirmed her engagement to Callum, 36, in June last year, is said to be preparing to tie the knot in the Italian town in September. Italian newspaper, Giornale di Sicilia stated a wedding planner has been working in Palermo for some time preparing for the spectacular from 5 to 7 September.

Meanwhile, La Repubblica publication stated there will a plethora of private jets bringing stars into the event, which has been branded: ‘The wedding of the year’.

Last year while confirming the news, Dua shared her joy with British Vogue, saying: ‘Yeah we‘re engaged. It’s very exciting…

‘This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever — it’s a really special feeling.’

Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Dua for comment.

In 2024, news of their romantic proposal emerged and Dua has regularly been seen with a dazzling diamond ring on her finger.

Speaking of their wedding plans, Dua said she hopes to finish her tour and Callum to wrap up filming before they tie the knot.

While the wedding hasn’t been at the forefront of her mind amid her busy schedule touring, she did admit she has started to think about her dress.

She said: ‘I want to finish my tour, Callum’s shooting, so we’re just enjoying this period…

‘I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I’m like: “Oh, what would I wear?”‘

Dua said she’s ‘obsessed’ with her engagement ring, before saying: ‘It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.’

Dua and Callum were first linked in January 2024 and reportedly got engaged over Christmas in 2024.

The Dance the Night Away hitmaker also shared that she is keen to have a family of her own but admitted she doesn’t know when would be a ‘good time’ because of the demands of her pop career.

She said: ‘I’d love to have kids one day. But it’s like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I’d have to take.
